As wildfires rage across the Los Angeles area, inmates are being put in immeasurable danger fighting to save lives and property from the flames, all while being paid mere dollars a day — between $5.80 and $10.24 to be exact.
While the firefighting program run by the California department of corrections is technically voluntary, state law dictates that inmates are required to work in some way, almost always for mere pennies an hour. *This is merely the illusion of choice.
You see, when slavery was abolished with the 13th Amendment, lawmakers snuck in language that would still allow slavery "as a punishment for crime." That's right — slavery is still alive and well in the U.S. in the form of forced prison labor like California's.
Now, prisoners' lives are being put in horrific danger fighting the LA wildfires because this loophole still exists!
This is modern-day slavery, and it must end now.
These inmates' lives matter. They have families, dreams, goals, and they should have bright futures ahead of them. But by using them as cheap labor to do highly dangerous, important work for the state, California is robbing them of their dignity and possibly even their lives.

I am going to say this one more time. I do not tell people how I vote because this is not American and that is personal. I have always kind of liked Trump. Everyone keeps saying how terrible he is; but I can not find anything that is so terrible about him that I would not approve of him. Is it because he is a Christian and does not drink or smoke? When the first assassination attempt was made on him; I protested it here and my art blog. Those posts are still in tact. I never mention politics on my art blog; that is how strongly I felt in his favor. That was the last straw. As sick of Biden; helping people who are not citizens of our country with 25 thousand dollars for a home here (see article above about El Paso), while American citizens, including veterans go homeless. That trauma that Trump endured by a bullet grazing his head was the worst thing I have felt as a patriot of our country since Regan was shot or that Senator from Arizona. When people try to assassinate our presidents; that goes way too far. When someone tried to assonate him; I decided there and then that I would vote straight republican in November of 2024. I suspect foreign influence over that assassination attempt and since non citizens hate him so much; I thought it must be the right think to vote for him.
I 1st covered the January 6th fiasco here as a amusement and nothing more. My first observation was that the January 6th protesters looked like my teachers from college. They did not look dangerous at all; in fact they all looked like nice cognitive people. I do not believe or ever believe it was a insurrection. Donald Trump states "I am the least racist person there is anywhere in the world." July 30, 2019

Ben Carson, who was the Trump administration's Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, explained his evidence for this belief, stating "When he bought Mar-a-Lago, he was the one who fought for Jews and blacks to be included in the clubs that were trying to exclude them. You know, people say he's a racist, he is not a racist." At the 2020 Republican National Convention, Herschel Walker, a close friend of Trump's for 37 years, defended him from charges of racism, saying "Growing up in the Deep South I've seen racism up close. I know what it is, and it isn't Donald Trump."
Though perceived as anti-immigrant, Trump is himself the son of an immigrant mother and has twice married wives who were immigrants. He has often celebrated his immigrant heritage. During the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Trump defended himself against accusations that his immigration policies were racist, stating "I will never apologize for pledging to enforce and uphold every single law of the United States, and to make my immigration priority defending and protecting American citizens above every other single consideration."
In a 2019 response to mass shootings he stated "In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy".
Trump and his allies have often pointed to record-low unemployment numbers among blacks and Hispanics during his presidency as evidence that he is not a racist and that his administration is benefiting racial minorities. In 2019, Trump received an award from the 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center for his administration's work to pass the First Step Act, which granted early release to thousands of non-violent offenders who were serving time in federal prisons. Evidence suggests black men were the main beneficiaries of the Act.
You can't just pick apart things white people say. Take it from me white people say stupid stuff; they don't mean, all the time. You just can't help it if you are a white American. I have to admit this senator does not sound unhinged at all; to me. I was amazed at how many parents wanted to change the sex of their children when it became legal to do it. What is wrong with parents in our country? Are they doing this to protest LGBTQ people? That is why I am against children transitioning until they are of age. Why would children be ready to change their sex when they can not even have sex; legally? I have stated many times online that the legal age for sex should be 21 so I would have to keep to that and say; I do not think it should be legal to transition until the age of 21.
Also I very, very against trans people competing in sports. It would be so cool if they could have their own sporting events though. I think that would be popular for people to watch. One of my reasons for this is because; I think anti-LGBTQ people take advantage of this to protest LGBTQ people by beating up females and to just throw a wrench in to the LGBTQ community to destroy and undermine them.
I am sorry for having to take a stand like this and hope it never effects my relationship with the LGBTQ community that I have done my best to protect publicly online since 2001.
I will always be there for the LGBTQ community's human rights and have had that resolve since 1996.

I got beat half to death trying to compete in sports. Except I did letter in tennis my freshman year (I was first to do so in my high school; I have it hanging on my kitchen wall now) and that was just plain fun. I remember I laughed until I cried one time; competing in high school tennis one time.
Ok transgenders. I love you and have stuck up for you many times and will always do so; except under 21 for transitioning (see above) . You can only go over the line so many times before you have to tow that line. No more transgenders in sports. You can probably blame those muscle bound trans beating girls up for that. I still say we should have a trans Olympics. I might watch that. So.:

All I can say is Obama was always promoting transparency of government activity. Also Obama seemed way more active in changing things, for Americans for the better, or at least trying. I was waiting for the democrats to do more for Americans the last administration and nothing happen at all, all that time. I am also weary of governments going commie like Venezuela. The first thing they do is bankrupt the country. Remember the citizens eating the zoo animals? The first thing Biden did was take trillions of dollars from us. This type of activity should not be condoned and is very suspicious as well. This is also something the anti-Christ will do after the rapture. He will have the entire globe depending on him for every penny they get. It seems unreal but the anti-Christ will be that powerful. Trump is great and I am very glad he is our president but I am here to write the White house and sign petitions to help him to be a more tolerant, good American when ever I can. I do not believe Trump hates Americans. I am very against trans women to be placed in men's prisons and shelters. That is why I am signing this petition. Also for the life-saving medical care for incarcerated trans individuals. This petition goes way over board even to the point of being untrue; yet I must sign it for some of the things it says. I do not believe trans women should be in women's prisons since there have been pregnancy's because of that. My comments are in (parenthesis)

Trump's executive order would force trans people out of public life by banning them from gender-affirming government documents, prohibiting their access to single-sex spaces that align with their identity, and even cutting off life-saving medical care for incarcerated trans individuals.
This order is also dangerous. By compelling trans women to be placed in men's prisons and shelters, the administration is knowingly subjecting them to extreme violence. By stripping trans people of the right to update their passports, the administration is deliberately making it harder for them to travel safely. By gutting protections in schools (I am and always will be against augmenting children's body's, transitioning them before they are old enough to understand such things; i.e. the legal age for sex.) and workplaces, the administration is greenlighting discrimination, harassment, and exclusion.
Trans people are already among the most marginalized and vulnerable people in society. They are targeted for violence at a rate that is four times higher than their cis (non-trans) peers. On top of that, the hate (I hope Trump will upgrade and increase all penalty's for hate crime violations exponentially.) and stigma they encounter leads to high rates of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. As a result, more than 80% of trans adults living in the U.S. have considered suicide.
Perhaps most egregiously, this order directly undermines Bostock v. Clayton County, the Supreme Court ruling that affirmed LGBTQ+ people are protected from sex-based discrimination under federal law.
To all those young people out there that wanted to commit suicide in the 1970s to the late 1970s I was with you. I only wanted to live to the age of 18. I was wild and young out on the streets of the big city; daring it all to come at me full blast. I thought that 18 years old was it for me. I was wrong. God wanted me to live WAY too much. I say to the young people that want to die.: Do what I did when my mom reached out to me; to present the Lord Jesus Christ to me. Do what I did and accept it all with open arms. It was the answer I searched for; all my young life.:

“A modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and ‘TRUMP,’ will never be able to settle,” Trump wrote.
“He [Zelensky] refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden ‘like a fiddle,’” Trump said. “A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.”
Presidential elections were supposed to be held in Ukraine in May of last year. However, the country’s constitution prohibits elections from being organized during martial law, which went into effect after Russia invaded in 2022.
On Tuesday, Trump suggested that Ukraine instigated the war with Russia and claimed that Zelensky had a 4% approval rating in his country. Phenix Lumber Co. in Alabama was the deadliest workplace in the U.S., yet it remained open for years despite its horrifying safety record. Workers were maimed, crushed, burned, lost fingers, suffered broken bones, or were sucked into machinery. Three people died — one so brutally that only 23 pounds of his remains were recovered.
Before each shift, workers started praying that they would make it out alive and uninjured.
One man was gruesomely killed inside a wood-chip silo, leaving behind an arm and little else discernible. Another was shredded in an auger — a giant drilling machine. His body was so thoroughly dismembered, one police officer on the scene said: "There ain't nothing left of him."
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) repeatedly cited Phenix Lumber for endangering its workers. Despite more than 180 safety violations and millions in fines, this death trap continued to evade true accountability and remained in operation. All while its owners and managers prioritized profits over basic safety precautions: the owners of Phenix Lumber were one of the wealthiest families in eastern Alabama.
Now, the company has conveniently declared bankruptcy, dodging accountability for its long history of human suffering.

Employees were forced to put their hands into active machinery to clear jams - without shutting off the power. Safety guards were left off, and machines were in such poor condition that they constantly malfunctioned. OSHA deemed Phenix Lumber one of the "worst of the worst" employers, but under weak federal laws, the agency lacked the power to shut it down.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) repeatedly cited Phenix Lumber for endangering its workers. Despite OSHA's citations and fines totaling millions of dollars, time and again, the company evaded true accountability. In 2011, OSHA issued Phenix a historic $1.9 million fine, only for a judge to slash it to just $300,000. Even after multiple deaths - including that of Brandon Vandyke, who was gruesomely killed inside a wood-chip silo in 2020 - operations continued with little consequence.
The owners of Phenix Lumber - one of the wealthiest families in eastern Alabama - ignored repeated warnings, knowingly placing workers in life-threatening conditions. When a 67-year-old maintenance supervisor named James Streetman was shredded in an auger - a giant drilling machine - the company had the audacity to blame him for his own death.
His body was so thoroughly dismembered, it was painstakingly recovered piece by bludgeoned, mashed up piece. A co-worker called 911 after he discovered a disembodied leg on its own near the heavy machinery. Later, officials found that his liver had been ejected from his body; his spine was pulverized. No one ever found his heart. One police officer on the scene stated in horror: "There ain't nothing left of him."
This is an outrageous failure of workplace protections and corporate responsibility. We demand a full federal investigation into how this mill was allowed to keep operating despite its appalling safety violations. Additionally, the owners and executives responsible for this culture of negligence must be held personally accountable - no more hiding behind a bankrupt company.

Good job Trump; again. I have seen little or nothing from the hell I endured from my wife being a veteran from 1992 to 2000. After over 30 years since she was a veteran; except the college money for my wife, that did not go far enough and ran out way too quick; I have seen hardly any benefits for that, except discounts at the well needed Home Depot. It is like our country hates its blood spilled for it's freedom. We did not get our blood spilled literally; although I went half insane while my wife served her country; I can say that much.:

I think I figured out why everyone at The White House is always grumpy. I think it is because they do not eat good there. I did a pretty extensive search on how they eat there and it ain't good. I searched everything from Presidential Food Service to The White House Mess and could not find anything I would like to eat. Also, I searched the so called; legendary Airforce One meals (these meals looked microwaved) and they where all unappetizing to me, completely.

On Friday, South Carolina is set to execute a man using a firing squad—the first time in 15 years the inhumane and shocking method has been used in the United States.
Some medical experts claim it will be painless. Others are not so sure. [1]
Whether by lethal injection, electric chair, or firing squad, the death penalty is government-sanctioned murder. Period. Death by firing squad is its own cruel method, not just for the person being murdered, but for those who are shooting. Research has shown that many people involved in executions—prison wardens, guards, even governors—have expressed regret and grief over their role in ending someone's life. [2]
And in South Carolina, one former executioner even died by suicide. [3]
Ultimately, we know very little about the people volunteering to be on the firing squad—their qualifications, experience with guns, and motivations for participating are kept confidential. And shield laws and stigma can make it difficult for people involved to talk about their experiences and the harm and trauma that might result. We have to intervene before it’s too late.
Call South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster at 803-734-2100 and urge him to use his executive power to intervene and stop Sigmon’s execution. You can use this script below:

Firing squads originated as a tool of public spectacle and fear in order to discourage desertion during the Civil War. [4] But more states are looking to bring back the barbaric method of the 1600s for executions, as botched lethal injections highlight the inhumane nature of the death penalty more broadly. [5]
This isn't about Sigmon's innocence or guilt. It's about whether our government should be in the business of killing its citizens. The death penalty is cruel and it must not be a course of action available in the U.S. anymore. And the firing squad is an archaic method that should be banned.

If I were to evaluate the democratic party it would take me about 10 pages of text; to do so. All I can say for now is I no longer have any faith in the democrats as a whole.
I used to, kind of agree with the thought that poor people may not be able to have voter ID's. That was many years ago. Then I found out ID's are free from the government. It seems like California might actually start to believe that now; after it may be too late to regain their state.:
