The latest development is a postponed town hall, known as Koffee with Keith, after the congressman said there has been a surge of threats directed at him and his staff.
“This is as bad as I have ever heard on anything that I've done in Congress,” Self said referring to the latest messages they've received by phone and social media.
At a town hall last week in Wylie, a large crowd voiced their displeasure with the congressman. The crowds chanted, "Vote you out," and "Do your job," at several points in the town hall.

The tragic death of 14-year-old Emily Pike, a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, has shocked and devastated her community. Emily was found dead in February after going missing in January, her body dismembered and left in a remote area. Her death highlights the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women, who are disproportionately affected by violence and disappearances. To address this problem, the Arizona state legislature is considering a bill that would create an Amber Alert-style system for missing Indigenous women to ensure they are given the same urgent attention as any other missing person.
The community's heartbreak over Emily Pike's death is a painful reminder of the systemic neglect faced by Indigenous communities. Native American women go missing and are murdered at a much higher rate than any other population, yet the resources and support available to help solve these cases are grossly inadequate. It's time to give these cases the attention they deserve, starting with the creation of an Amber Alert-style system that will notify the public and expedite the search for missing Indigenous women.

Muslim-centric EPIC City draws Collin County meeting ire
Plans haven’t been submitted, but most residents at Monday’s public hearing opposed the project.

On Monday, all but three speakers at the public hearing opposed the project. More than 90 people sat in the audience of Collin County Commissioners Court in McKinney, and the meeting was so packed that attendees had to park in a field nearby.
Residents poured into the lobby outside the meeting room and into another area downstairs in the building. Many wore clothes or hats with American flags or logos like “America First” or “Make America Great Again.”
Heated debate between supporters and opponents of the project picked up outside the meeting room during a break.
Monday’s meeting comes after Gov. Greg Abbott directed a series of state agencies to investigate EPIC and its affiliated entities. Abbott announced Monday he has directed the Texas Rangers to investigate the mosque and related businesses for “potential criminal activities.”
At least four other investigations into EPIC are being led by Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas State Board of Securities and the Texas Funeral Service Commission. Abbott previously said in an X post that a “dozen” state agencies were investigating.
County Judge Chris Hill said the commissioners court wasn’t accustomed to having an audience this large. About 60 residents spoke during Monday’s meeting.
It wasn’t clear whether EPIC representatives attended Monday’s meeting. A spokesperson for Community Capital Partners and the engineering firm for EPIC City was present.
Those who opposed EPIC City cited concerns about allegations that the planned development violates housing laws. Others expressed concerns about Islamic religious practices.
“I have a feeling many people won’t speak today because the media, possibly other Muslims, will label us as racist,” said Tasha Escoto. She said she did not support the development. “I’m against a religion that I believe allows abuse to women. We are a nation founded on Christian values. Why are we even allowing this?”
At least seven speakers said America was a Christian or Judeo-Christian nation. Many described elements of Islam that they did not support, and a few expressed fears that members of the development might convert their children to Islam.
Two people who said they were immigrants or children of immigrants shared their family’s stories and said immigrants to the United States should “assimilate.”
Darrel Evans, a Collin County resident who previously ran as a Democrat for Texas House District 89, said he was supportive of the project. He accused Abbott and Paxton of misusing their powers by directing the investigations. He said the EPIC City project was still in the “idea” phase.
“Are we investigating ideas now?” he asked.
“I’ve seen a troubling pattern in Texas where marginalized communities — Black, brown, immigrant and migrant populations — are consistently targeted by discriminatory laws,” Evans said.
“It’s disappointing that these so-called Christians with American values are so quick to abandon those values and the Constitution,” Evans added. “My hope is that this commission will remember that they represent all residents.”
Erin Ragsdale, an executive vice president and partner at communication firm Allyn that is representing Community Capital Partners, was the last of about 60 people to speak at the podium Monday.
Ragsdale said EPIC City was “open to everyone” — Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
“I don’t think we would be here at this early stage if there were plans floating around for a master-planned community with a place of worship that was Christian,” Ragsdale said.
She also said EPIC’s members were “good neighbors,” and highlighted food drives and other community programs the mosque does that are open to people in need regardless of religion.
David Kalhoefer, a senior planner with engineering firm Westwood, told commissioners that a development application hasn’t been submitted. A traffic impact analysis, flood study and environmental study have been completed.
Community Capital Partners told The Dallas Morning News it reached out to Hill on March 19 to request a meeting where it would provide an overview of the project.
The firm declined to present during Monday’s meeting because the project is still in the planning phase.
Kalhoefer told The News that the firm is revising the project’s masterplan based on the results of the flood study. They hope to present plans to officials later this year.
“I cannot support this project,” Hill, the county judge, said as the hearing neared its end.
Investigations
Paxton announced the first investigation last Tuesday. The state’s top prosecutor requested documents from Community Capital Partners related to its EPIC City development. The request is part of Paxton’s investigation into whether the group is violating state consumer protection laws.
Abbott announced Wednesday that the Texas Funeral Service Commission sent a cease-and-desist letter, alleging the mosque was operating a funeral home without a license.
The Texas State Securities Board launched its investigation Thursday into potential failures to “comply with applicable state and federal securities requirements, including protections against fraud.” In a news release, Abbott said the mosque and affiliated companies may be misleading investors.
On Friday, the Texas Workforce Commission announced it was investigating EPIC and Community Capital Partners to determine if the parties violated any fair housing laws.
Community Capital Partners told The News in February that the organization would adhere to the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits the denial of housing to a person based on their religion and other protected classes.
The organization stated it “will not enforce blanket bans on any group of people, but we will conduct thorough individualized assessments of prospective buyers to ensure they align with our goals of safety and security.”

The legislation would restrict foreign nationals and companies from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea from owning property in the state.
In recent years, hundreds of bills aimed at limiting land ownership by certain non-U.S. nationals, including those from China, have been introduced around the country, according to data collected by the Committee of 100, which formed to address critical issues confronting people of Chinese ancestry in the United States.
So far, more than 22 states have passed legislation restricting property ownership based on country of origin, according to the organization. A Florida law enacted in 2023 limits land ownership by people from multiple countries, including China, but has been temporarily halted by a federal appeals court.
Supporters of the bill have argued the bills will protect Texas’ natural resources and critical infrastructure from foreign threats. Robb Misso, CEO of Texas Alliance of Manufacturers Associations, said he doesn’t think the bills will hurt the state’s ability to bring jobs to the state.

Recently I had to research the Muslim Religion because it related to some controversial problems I have seen in America that I thought needed a voice of protest by Americans. It was not difficult at all to find information online quickly. Sharia law was one of the most outstanding problems that I never knew about by reading about it in the news. I did not know Sharia law existed until just recently when I researched it. A 17-year-old is fighting for his life in critical condition after police shot him nine times outside of his home in Idaho.
A neighbor said that police seemed like a "firing squad" as they opened fire on the child, who has autism and cerebral palsy, within 15 seconds of arriving on the scene.
Victor Perez, the victim of this abhorrent violence at the hands of police, was described by his family as nonverbal, barely able to walk, and having the cognitive ability of a 5-year-old.
Police were called by a neighbor who didn't know Victor — they saw him from across the street and read his body language as intoxication. Victor was also holding a knife, but according to Victor's aunt who was present, he was not threatening them, just refusing to give the knife back.
But when police arrived, they took no time to assess, understand, or deescalate. Exactly 12 seconds after arriving on the scene, running at Victor with weapons drawn, police opened fire at the disabled boy. Victor has had to have his leg amputated, and is now in a coma that his doctors aren't sure he'll ever wake up from.
Half of people killed by police in the United States have some form of a disability, such as Victor's cerebral palsy.
These officers are clearly unfit to serve and protect their community if they thought a child with autism and cerebral palsy holding a knife should be shot nearly a dozen times. They showed no signs of deescalating and explored zero nonlethal methods of getting the situation under control. This violent brutality from police is all too common in the United States, where particularly disabled people and people of color are targeted.

On Friday, Trump sought to defend the deportation by posting a photo of himself with an image purporting to be Abrego Garcia’s hand tattoos, with the words MS-13 seen just below the knuckles of the hand.
The text, available on the website for the Office of Justice Programs - part of the US Department of Justice – continues: “In addition to local crimes, MS-13 is known to participate in numerous transnational crimes; for example, they are involved in the illegal trafficking of stolen vehicles from the United States to Central America. They also participate in weapon smuggling and illegal firearm sales.
“MS-13 also has theft crews traveling across the United States, stealing over-the-counter medications from retail stores that are then sold in the illegal market.”
InSight Crime writes that MS-13 has origins in Los Angeles in the 1980s and has caused the Northern Triangle of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras to become “one of the most violent places in the world outside a warzone”.

In a joint operation, officers from the Nariño Police Department's GAULA (National Action Group of Units of the National Guard), in coordination with intelligence personnel, captured four Venezuelan citizens in flagrante delicto for the crime of extortion, in an event that represents a significant blow against criminal organizations seeking to disrupt security in the region.
The detainees held three public buses, demanding $4,000 (approximately 16 million Colombian pesos) for their return. According to the investigation, the detainees identified themselves as alleged members of the "Tren de Aragua" criminal group, an organization accused of committing multiple crimes in different regions of the country.

With the reconciliation bill heading to the Senate following passage in the House—which included full restoration of the 1099-K reporting threshold to $20,000 and 200 transactions—Senators now have a prime opportunity to continue this momentum.
Millions of Americans like me sell used items from around their house using online platforms. Unless Congress enacts a permanent, legislative fix that raises the 1099-K reporting threshold, Americans who casually sell online will receive confusing and unnecessary 1099-K tax forms for transactions for which there is no tax liability in the first place.
From prom dresses to old electronics to used sports equipment – if you sell even a single item for more than $600 dollars online, you’ll receive a tax form and will need to prove to the IRS that you did not make a profit. This policy change is currently slated to take effect January 1, 2026, absent Congressional action.
When many families are facing increasing costs at the grocery store or when paying their utility bills, Americans shouldn’t be forced to choose between making money on used goods to cover expenses, or facing the IRS.

This Parks and Recreation and King of the Hill Actor Was Murdered By a Neighbor Who Was Allegedly Yelling Homophobic Slurs. We Demand Justice for Jonathan Joss.
Jonathan Joss, best known for his roles on Parks and Recreation and King of the Hill, was shot and killed on Sunday, June 1st, 2025.
Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, alleges that for years, the couple endured harassment from neighbors in San Antonio, Texas that was rooted in homophobia.
Gonzales claims that some of this harassment came in the form of threats to burn the couples' house down. Their home was destroyed in a fire earlier this year; the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
Joss and Gonzales lost their two beloved dogs in the blaze.
On the day of the shooting, the couple had returned to the property to retrieve mail. According to Gonzales, they noticed one of their dog's skulls and harness displayed in plain sight — possibly laid out as a taunt or a threat. Upon seeing this, the couple became visibly and audibly upset, which led their neighbor to approach them.
Gonzales reported that Sigfredo Alvarez Cejam approached them, began "yelling violent homophobic slurs", and then raised a gun and fired it at the couple.
Joss was pronounced dead at the scene after he was shot multiple times.
Joss was a gay, Native American man living in San Antonio, Texas. Based on his husband's description of events, they both faced acute bigotry and abuse at the hands of their community. There seems to be clear indicators that Joss' murder could have been a hate crime.
The police must take this seriously. Both Native Americans and members of the LGBTQ+ community have a heightened risk of violence in the United States — and when that violence is in direct response to their racial, sexual, or gender identity, it is considered a hate crime.
The San Antonio police owe it to Jonathan Joss, and everybody in the United States, to seek true justice. If this was indeed a hate crime, it must be treated as such. The California National Guard arrived in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning, stopping in front of the Hall of Justice next to city hall.
President Donald Trump signed a memorandum "deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness" in California as demonstrations opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations continue in the state, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement Saturday. "In the wake of this violence, California's feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens," Leavitt said. "That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester," Leavitt said.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said authorities were seeking to identify people who threw rocks at law enforcement vehicles.
In a statement Saturday, ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons faulted local officials, including LA Mayor Karen Bass, and police for their response to the situation on Friday evening.
"What took place in Los Angeles yesterday was appalling," Lyons said. "As rioters attacked federal ICE and law enforcement officers on the LA streets, Mayor Bass took the side of chaos and lawlessness over law enforcement."
Lyons' statement went on to say: "Our brave officers were vastly outnumbered, as over 1,000 rioters surrounded and attacked a federal building. It took over two hours for the Los Angeles Police Department to respond, despite being called multiple times. The brave men and women of ICE were in Los Angeles arresting criminal illegal aliens including gang members, drug traffickers and those with a history of assault, cruelty to children, domestic violence, robbery, and smuggling.

After Uribe Turbay was shot, a gunfight occurred between his bodyguards and the gunman; at least one other person is believed to have been injured during the attack. I felt disgraceful to live in California; after all the love I felt when I first moved there around 1986; with my soon to be wife, I married on Big Bear Mountain. Yes disgust is a good word for how I see these riots in my former home state of California. Disgust means.: a feeling of revulsion or strong disapproval aroused by something unpleasant or offensive. Also I would also use the word dismay, meaning : consternation and distress, typically that caused by something unexpected. I can tell you about a conversation I had with a black man in his 20's that was getting away from LA during the riots to where I was living on the central coast. I told him how I could not believe that a place that had so much love everywhere could be so cruel to one another. He said to me that they did not know what else they could do. My advice; is what I have always said.: What does the Bible say?

(The Center Square) – Gov. Greg Abbott has surged law enforcement resources statewide ahead of planned anti-immigration enforcement protests in Texas on Saturday to coincide with the 250-year anniversary of the U.S. Army. Read here.
In response to recent reports of protests planned for McKinney and Frisco on Saturday, June 14, the Collin County North Texas Fusion Center is in full operation and continues to monitor the developing situation.
While event organizers advertise the event as a nonviolent demonstration, recent rioting and violence in other large U.S. cities requires law enforcement officials to be prepared for all circumstances. The Collin County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has been coordinating with local law enforcement entities and all necessary contingency plans are in place. Additionally, the CCSO and the Fusion Center will be evaluating and adjusting plans in real time as necessary.
"I support and defend the right of all citizens to gather and demonstrate peacefully," said Collin County Judge Chris Hill, "but we will have zero tolerance for violence against others, destruction of property, or other unlawful acts in Collin County. I left the manufacturing part blank because I never got into it. I had a girlfriend about 3 years before I met my wife; who was working for a big local manufacturing company. I had a interview type meeting with a bunch of dudes from there after dropping her off at her job and waiting for her to get off from work; a couple of times. These dudes from here manufacturing job made it clear to me that if I were to work there; it was not just some job, it was for life. I ended up breaking up with her after we dated a while and even talked about marriage. I knew if I ever decided to work for a manufacturer it would be for life and never forgot those conversations with those great Americans. They are more inclined to view them negatively, and to dismiss them as having ‘been misled’ in forming their opinions. This is the revelation on the front page of the Guardian today. Reporting on a study by the political group More in Common, it relates how the liberal-left are ‘out of step’ with most people in the country when it comes to cultural matters and immigration. Iran must never become a nuclear power, and Israel has every right to defend itself against that existential threat. History has proven that Iran’s Supreme Leader cannot be trusted. As Iran continues to slow-roll negotiations, they are growing dangerously close to becoming a nuclear power. If intelligence confirms that Iran is actively pursuing a nuclear weapon, it is in our national interest to stop it by any means necessary.
While the conflict between Israel and Iran escalates, it is important to remain mindful of Iranian leadership's public threats to annihilate Israel, along with their chants of “death to America.” Israel's recent strikes were not only justified, but they were also a necessary step to weakening the regime and sending a clear message that they are better off negotiating than clinging to aspirations of becoming a nuclear military power.
For years, most of the world has been sending a clear message to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei: No Nukes. Now that Iran’s capabilities of enriching Uranium are nearing 90%, President Trump is sending an even stronger message: “Unconditional surrender.” The President has also made clear that any attacks on Americans will be met by swift, decisive action.
While Israel continues to strike military targets, Iran is hurling missiles and drones at Israel’s civilian population. My fear is that time may be running out on a peaceful solution, but my hope is that President Trump will prevail in finding one. As Israel recovers the bodies of three more hostages, how many are still in Gaza? June 22, 202512:29 PM ET
Israel said Sunday that it has recovered the bodies of three more hostages taken in Hamas' Oct. 7 attack that ignited the ongoing 20-month war in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military identified them as Yonatan Samerano, 21; Ofra Keidar, 70; and Shay Levinson, 19. All three were killed during the initial attack and their bodies were taken into Gaza. Kobi Samerano said in a Facebook post that his son's remains were returned on what would have been Yonatan's 23rd birthday.
The military did not provide details about the operation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is committed to returning the remaining hostages even as it wages a new military campaign against Iran.

Other footage examined by The Times shows damage to buildings in the immediate aftermath of another explosion by a second entrance to the prison complex, about 600 yards from the main prison entrance. This strike appeared to be by an entrance to a visitation center on the prison grounds.
The prison was opened in 1971 under Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. Over the next seven years, the facility came to international prominence because of what Human Rights Watch called the “horrifying conditions” in which prisoners were held by the secret police.
Former prisoners have described long interrogations, torture, rape, psychological humiliation, solitary confinement and other examples of harsh treatment and abuse.
Executions at the prison have often been conducted by hanging, they say. Female prisoners who have been tortured have also then been denied adequate medical care, according to Amnesty International.
Cecilia Sala, an Italian journalist who was detained in Iran in December and held at the prison before being released, said her cell had two blankets but no mattress or pillow. She said guards seized her glasses, rendering her all but unable to see. The lights in the cell were constantly on, and during daily interrogations, which lasted for hours, she was blindfolded and had to sit facing a wall, she said. From here.

The FBI recently arrested 11 people in the U.S. for distributing - and ordering the creation of - horrific videos that feature sexually abusing and torturing monkeys.
The content, known as "animal crush videos," is all about sadistically harming innocent animals for the entertainment of humans around the world. In fact, U.S. authorities discovered that there's a nationwide conspiracy involved in creating and circulating these videos.
Of the 11 people arrested, authorities charged one man with hiring a child in Indonesia to acquire the animals and perform the heinous acts.

The videos included footage of the child cutting off the monkeys' genitals with scissors, burning their genitals, and sodomizing them with various painful objects.

Wake up Kroger owed stores; to the Trump's overwhelming victory over America. I am all for human rights for LGBTQ American folks (this blogger since 2012 testifies to that) but maybe Kroger is being offensive to them who may disagree with them. Making President Trump’s tax cuts permanent, repealing Joe Biden’s so-called Inflation Reduction Act, and slashing wasteful spending is the TRIFECTA that 77 million Americans voted for. When Republicans took the reins, we did so with a clear mandate to put America first.
For too long, Washington has been plagued by reckless spending and bloated deficits. It’s time to stop treating the symptoms of inflation and start attacking the disease: government spending. The House delivered major wins in the framework of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” – including $1.5 trillion in spending cuts – yet somehow, the unelected Senate parliamentarian thinks she can dictate policy, and those in the Senate aren’t doing much to stop her.

FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill protects and strengthens Medicaid for Americans with disabilities. Rest assured, those with disabilities receiving Medicaid will receive no loss or change in coverage.
MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill “punishes vulnerable Americans with work requirements to receive their benefits.”
FACT: Not true. The 20-hour weekly work requirement applies only to able-bodied adults without young children and promotes dignity, stability, and better health outcomes for families. The One Big Beautiful Bill restores the dignity of work with historically bipartisan work requirements for able-bodied Americans. We are implementing commonsense, Clinton-era work, volunteer, education, or training requirements with broad bipartisan support.
MYTH: “There’s no fraud in Medicaid — Republicans are just taking coverage away from vulnerable populations.”
FACT: In the last 10 years, CMS admitted that improper payments for Medicaid have exceeded HALF A TRILLION dollars. In just the past year, taxpayers spent $56 billion on benefits for able-bodied adults abusing the system—and over a million illegal aliens are receiving free health care on the backs of taxpayers. The One Big Beautiful Bill removes illegal aliens, enacts work requirements for able-bodied adults, and protects Medicaid for the truly vulnerable.
MYTH: “SNAP work requirements are unnecessary.”
FACT: Only 28% of able-bodied adults on SNAP work. The One Big Beautiful Bill promotes work, responsibility, and restores SNAP to serve the truly needy. SNAP enrollment remains high even in a strong economy, including millions of able-bodied adults who could work. Elderly Christian Released from Prison in Indonesia
7/17/2025 Indonesia (International Christian Concern) — After serving more than four years behind bars, an elderly Christian man has been released from prison in Indonesia.
International Christian Concern (ICC) field staff have learned that Apollinaris Darmawan was freed from the Kebon Waru Prison in November 2024. His release comes about a year earlier than expected after he received “several remissions” to his original sentence. This is the second time Darmawan has been imprisoned for his faith.
Police arrested Darmawan in late 2020 after someone accused him of insulting the Prophet Muhammad and Islam on social media. The Bandung District Court sentenced Darmawan to a maximum of five years for blasphemy. The court also fined him nearly 800 million rupiahs (about $50,000) for “disseminating information aimed at causing hatred or dissension on individuals and certain groups of community based on ethnic groups, religions, races, and inter-groups.”
In 2017, he was sentenced to four years in prison for insulting Islam. He was freed in March 2020 to help prevent and control the spread of the coronavirus.
During his most recent imprisonment, Darmawan remained steadfast in his faith. Supported by dozens of letters from ICC’s Prison Letter Writing Campaign and several visits from ICC staff, he stayed spiritually and physically strong, walking nearly two miles inside the prison grounds daily, and relying on prayer to sustain him.
Despite the years he spent in prison, Darmawan, a former Muslim who converted to Catholicism, still fervently believes he was correct to challenge the teachings of Islam.

I like this article. It seems like it is easier to understand than other articles I have read on this subject. I think it was good for America to go through the Obama presidency. We all became more sensitive and that is always a good thing; unlike todays radical left democrats that seem anti-American and anti-Christian. I liked Obama because after studying almost all of his speeches that were available online in script form; I have determined that Obama was patriotic and trusted in God and his blessings on our country. I would like to study our presidents speeches like that but his are hard to find in script format. They should fix that. I did mention that in one of my emails to him: i.e. his staff.:
This week, Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, uncovered a massive cover-up orchestrated by the Obama administration. What we didn’t know is that the Obama team knew it was a hoax – and had repeatedly concluded that Russia was not trying to interfere in the election – until December 2016, when they suddenly changed their tune. Multiple members of Obama’s national security team testified before Congress, and now we know they lied under oath. I am confident that the Department of Justice will fully investigate this matter, and I’m grateful that the truth has been uncovered. I have no doubt President Trump, his cabinet, and Congress will keep pushing for transparency in the government and working for the American people.

Washington, D.C. should be a symbol of pride and patriotism for the American people — and a safe location for tourists, residents, and public servants. Unfortunately, while Fake News journalists and politicians go out of their way to claim otherwise, the reality is that our nation’s capital is anything but safe.
Many outlets ran with the story that crime in D.C. is at an all-time low, but here are the facts:

In 2024, Washington, D.C. saw a homicide rate of 27.3 per 100,000 residents.
That was the fourth-highest homicide rate in the country — nearly six times higher than New York City and also higher than Atlanta, Chicago, and Compton.
If Washington, D.C. was a state, it would have the highest homicide rate of any state in the nation.
In 2012, the homicide rate in Washington, D.C. was just 13.9 per 100,000 residents.
Washington, D.C.’s murder rate is roughly three times higher than that of Islamabad, Pakistan, and 18 times higher than that of communist-run Havana, Cuba.
The number of juveniles arrested in Washington, D.C., has gone up each year since 2020 — many of whom have had prior arrests for violent crimes.
There were 29,348 crimes reported in Washington, D.C. last year, including 3,469 violent offenses, 1,026 assaults with a dangerous weapon, 2,113 robberies, and 5,139 motor vehicle thefts.
So far in 2025, there have already been nearly 1,600 violent crimes and nearly 16,000 total crimes reported in Washington, D.C.
There have been nearly 100 homicides, including the fatal shootings of innocent civilians like three-year-old Honesty Cheadle and 21-year-old Capitol Hill intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym.
Vehicle theft in Washington, D.C. is more than three times the national average — ranking it among the most dangerous cities in the world.
Carjackings increased 547% between 2018 and 2023.
In 2024, there were triple the number of carjackings compared to 2018.
These statistics are not only troubling on their own, but they also likely significantly understate the level of crime in Washington, D.C.
Many residents don’t feel safe reporting crime.
More than half of all violent crime in the U.S. goes unreported in the first place.

No shrimp that tested positive has entered the U.S. food supply, the FDA said.

The Food and Drug Administration is warning the public not to eat, sell or serve certain Great Value raw frozen shrimp sold at Walmart due to possible contamination with Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted the FDA about possible Cesium-137, or Cs-137, detected in shipping containers at four U.S. ports, the FDA said Tuesday in a press release. Testing on frozen shrimp from the distributor, Indonesia's BMS Foods, also tested positive, the FDA said.
All products from the company are now banned from coming into the U.S. "until the firm has resolved the conditions that gave rise to the appearance of the violation," the FDA said.
Cesium is a soft, flexible, silvery-white metal that becomes liquid near room temperature, but easily bonds with chlorides to create a crystalline powder, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
External exposure to large amounts of Cesium-137, according to the EPA, can cause burns, acute radiation sickness and even death. Read here.

They are not good Christians because they are very wealthy and because of that they are not very devoted Christians. A deeply devoted Christian could never be very popular or wealthy after all. Wouldn't this mean that the popularity of Christianity is at a all time high; just before the rapture, since they are the most wealthiest at that time. Aren't the most popular people wealthy? Doesn't that mean that Christians have more power than most people just before the rapture? Aren't the most wealthiest people on earth the most powerful? Because of all that there should never be any persecution of Christians in this world that can not be stopped by Christian Activism, today. I guess that is a positive way of looking at the end times if there is such a thing. That is just how I am; I like to look to see the good in things.

President Trump welcomed President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea, hosted the Abbey Gate Gold Star families, and held a Cabinet meeting at the White House.
He celebrated a major win when Cracker Barrel made the decision to return to their original logo after pushback from many people, including President Trump.
The President also took several actions including protecting the American flag from desecration, ending cashless bail, canceling $4.9 billion in foreign aid through a pocket rescission, and honoring those who tragically lost their lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This many arrest's only proves further how bad DC is. I will never forget going though there in the late 1970's as a young man witnessing a large tall, appearing to be a homeless African American man; threatening to shot someone in a random argument. It was in a train station and he was yelling loud, echoing even loader. It was a horrific experience.

I ain't no commie that is one thing I know through and through, from my toes to my head. I am a capitalist and believe it is the greatest form of government ever invented. Our greatest moment in our government was our forefathers and the constitution is the reason America has prospered and thrived. Having said this; this type nonsense should end. There is no logic in it. I guess I could describe it as a dictatorship. Is that what our forefathers would have wanted for us? I think even my wife agrees with me on this one. I am by no means saying socialism or communism is the answer to this problem in anyway; that would be a cognitive distortion.
CEOs just keep getting richer in the U.S. According to research conducted by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), U.S. corporate executives have been focusing hard on ballooning top-level pay - while restricting wages for lowest-pay workers. In fact, that "CEO-to-worker" gap in pay has skyrocketed all the way to a ratio of 631-to-1.
The IPS specifically looked at the 100 corporations with the lowest median worker pay out of all S&P 500 companies, and found that their average yearly compensation for CEOs was $17,200,000! By contrast, their workers were paid a median amount of $35,570. Per year.
What do these executives need $17.2 million per year for? Why is this allowed? The U.S. Congress has the authority to act on this, and it absolutely should. Ask Congress to pass a law capping these obscene and unreasonable pay gaps! Sign the petition!
But that $17.2 million figure was just the average CEO compensation amount. That number climbs far higher for some corporations. Take Starbucks for example. The company had the largest CEO-to-worker pay gap last year. It awarded its CEO $95.8 million last year. That was 6,666 times more than its median pay. Median worker pay was only $14,674 that same year.
Right now, people in the U.S. can't afford to buy homes. They can barely pay rent. The cost of housing has surged astronomically over the past 50 years, while real wages for day-to-day workers have flatlined. Average American workers are breaking their backs and exhausting themselves to the core to keep corporations afloat. Meanwhile, the rich keep insisting on getting richer, feasting on the burnt-out sacrifices of everyday people. This is pure exploitation, plain and simple.
As Sarah Anderson, author of the IPS report and director of the IPS's Global Economy Project, said: "Median pay increased only modestly, whereas CEO pay really skyrocketed... In the midst of all of this [radical increase in costs of living], CEOs are focused on making themselves even richer, instead of thinking about the welfare of their employees or even the long-term growth of their company."
Congress has an ethical duty to the 342 million people who live in the U.S. - the vast majority of whom are not CEOs or billionaires - to pass legislation protecting them from this kind of reckless exploitation. If a law like this doesn't get passed, ask yourself: to whom is your Congressperson loyal? Is it to the working people, or to the billionaires?
Sign the petition to join us in calling for an end to this gross discrepancy in pay! No one deserves to be earning 6,000 times more than their employees. This caught my eye because of the burn pits. Burn pits cause cancer and should be banned forever. Then when I discovered it was in my home state; so I had to sign it.
At a Texas ranch, authorities recently discovered multiple burn pits containing animals' bones and ashes, as well as starving dogs left to wither away in scalding summer heat. Some dogs died that way, and their corpses were left to simply rot in the sun. A black trash bag was stuffed full of a dead dog. Authorities also found a "barrel full of half-burned dogs."
Sign the petition to demand immediate mental health services for the person responsible! They must also be banned from animal ownership for life!
According to official records, the owner of the Freedom Ranch Laredo facility was allegedly withholding food, proper water, medical care, and sanitary conditions from the animals there. Based on text messages with another associate of the facility, it appears she knew she was doing this and that it was willful.
This associate also apparently witnessed some dogs teaming together to attack others, as well as others in dire need of veterinary care, and raised these concerns with the owner. The text messages - shared with authorities - showed the owner replying flippantly and even writing "lol" to indicate laughter.
There were nearly 30 dogs at the facility when authorities went to investigate. All of the dogs have now been seized from the premises - and the vast majority were very sickly. Most were severely malnourished, dehydrated, and underweight. Some had mange. One was sick with cancer. Others had diseases from parasites that had advanced beyond the point of intervention. Ultimately, veterinarians were forced to euthanize three of the dogs, though the others are all in treatment and seem likely to recover.
As Isidro Alaniz, the Webb County District Attorney, said: "It's one of the worst animal cruelty cases I've seen."
It's difficult to comprehend just how horrific this situation became - and it's clear that the woman who owned the ranch requires psychological intervention, immediately, in order to keep others around her safe. I have done a little research about the things Charlie Kirk said and I believe just like our president, Charlie suffered the same speculation and misinformation spread about him. I think if you research things he said, in depth; you will see there was some truth in almost all of it, despite the lies perpetrated against him. He was clearly a Christian and sought to spread the Word of God; that makes him a martyr. Forget about every thing railed against him and concentrate on that. If you are like most Americans; that alone should have a huge impact on you.

I prayed all night after I read about Charlie Kirk. I first prayed that his wife daughter and son would have this horror taken from their memory. By the morning it turned to having them to be healed of all the trauma of having their father and husband murdered; when I prayed together outload with my wife. Our son Brady, a high-school Senior, is one of those young people.
Yesterday hit me incredibly hard. But it absolutely devastated Brady. And many of his friends too. They represent a generation of up-and-coming American leaders who Charlie Kirk captivated, not only with his words and his wisdom, but with his kindness, his respect for others, his ability to break through disagreement and to find mutual understanding, all while standing firm as a rock and refusing to compromise his deeply held convictions and beliefs.
Like a sponge, Brady soaked in Charlie Kirk whenever he could – – his podcasts, his articles, his social media postings, his speeches, his debates, his writings. Charlie was able to communicate with Brady and his friends with a fresh wind and a fresh fire that, frankly, no one else has ever been able to have.
Much like September 11, 2001 did for us, so will September 10, 2025 do for Brady’s generation. The horror of seeing their hero brutally assassinated in cold blood will forever be etched in their memories, just like grown men and women jumping from the windows of the Twin Towers are etched in ours.

When Jeff says the above marked with one asterisk. I like to think he means we need to be more outspoken as Christians. I sure hope it does not mean anything bazaar like we should jail or kill all LGBTQ people. I could see how someone with a weak mind could try to read that into that. I wish he had been more clear when he wrote that. I am sure Jeff did not mean to say that; since I am sure he is a good Christian since I read his Easter email about going home to be with his family on Easter this past Easter.
Yes the Old Testament said we should stone LGBTQ people. Jesus came to free us from the laws of The Old Testament. That is why we do not have to scarifies animals on a alter anymore (which was to signify Christ's coming as God in the flesh). Jesus was always accused of being with sinners because he came to save sinners. Could be one or two of those people that followed Jesus was a LGBTQ person. To say we should jail or put to death LGBTQ people or people that commit adultery is to deny Christ. Yes they used to stone people that committed adultery too; like the woman at the well. To deny Christ has terrible consequences. Like I always say; the Bible says if a man looks at a woman with lust. it is the same as adultery. Does that mean we should jail or stone everyone that does that? Got to any city and you will see men do this all the time. This is why I am for Separation of Church and Sate not because of the Bible ruling our country. That would be great; because this is a Christian country, based on the Bible from the very start. Separation of Church and State is necessary; because the people that would end up running our country would surely get it wrong. You can not mix truth and error; nothing does our Lord hate more than that. My favorite pastor in the world used to say that all the time Pastor M.H. Reynolds.
I really like when he wrote "be unashamed of the Gospel". There is a serous problem with our country in that the Christians seem to be ashamed to be Christians. Afraid to acknowledge Christ like Peter did even after he said he would not. Before the cock crows Jesus said to him. Sad. People seem to be so afraid it is hard to even see people celebrating Christmas anymore. I was much like Charlie Kirk. I gave the best years of my youth to him. People used to call me that guy with the Bible because I would carry the Bible with me where ever I went and try to help people get saved from the age of 18 to about the age of 23, I was kind of a street preacher. From that moment on I have never been afraid to share the Word of God with people. Once you start standing up for the Lord it becomes easier and easier to do that. Like my friend from Provision Auto said to me the other day; "it's the Holy Spirit".

Concerning my last post here yesterday.: I just can not stop thinking about people getting fired from their jobs for things they say on Social Media without reminding anyone that might read this blog that I am against social media and always have been since it started; as I have stated many times in all my blogs. YouTube and Reddit and the like are not social media. Social Media is locked away from the rest of the internet and uses a platforms separate from the internet; that only uses the internet; therefore is not part of the internet as a whole. According to local reports, the ADF fighters stormed the gathering and opened fire without warning. Women, children, and men, who only hours earlier were comforting each other in shared sorrow, were gunned down in cold blood.
The violence did not end with the killings. Survivors described how the attackers, often referred to as “butchers,” torched almost everything in their path. Two trucks, four motorcycles, and numerous homes were set ablaze, plunging the community into despair. Families who had already lost loved ones were left without shelter or possessions, compounding their trauma with displacement and destitution.
“In the past months, we had learned that the ADF wanted to establish some form of cohesion, a certain collaboration with the population,” said Kiwewa Mitela Alain, the military administrator of Lubero Territory. “But the population was really not in agreement with that. So, I think that what happened is not really related to that story. It’s just the ADF’s modus operandi. That’s how they operate, that’s how they act. You know, it’s a terrorist group. And like all terrorist groups, their objective is often to instill fear in order to force the population to join their movement. That’s why they behave this way. Sometimes, some the things I post bother me; like this.: I know I said that more surveillance might help us in concerning these murdering maniacs that plague our country. I have thought it over for a couple of days and found a way to communicate and express what I was trying to convey when I said that. We would have to listen and keep track of what people say or write; that threaten to kill people. Maybe we need listening devices in all the phones and computers; of suspects of threatening others with bodily harm: for example.
I have said this many times online and to people I have worked with in the fast food industry; concerning sadistic customers. It is against the law to threaten people. Here is a link to Texas law on that subject.

Three suspects have been charged after a Houston youth baseball coach was wounded in a shooting during a pregame prayer with players on Sunday.
Mahmood Abdelsalam Rababah, 23, Ahmad Mawed, 21, and Mustafa Mohammad Matalgah, 27, were arrested on felony charges of deadly conduct with a firearm, the Waller County Sheriff’s Office said. They were each being held on $100,000 bond.
The chaos unfolded at Ameripark youth baseball field, known as The Rac, in the town of Katy, after three people fired weapons from a nearby pasture in the direction of the field as a youth baseball event was ongoing, the sheriff’s office said. Read here.

Last week, House Republicans did our jobs and passed a Continuing Resolution to fund the government for another seven weeks, giving appropriators time to make progress on the FY2026 spending bills. While this bill passed the House, Democrats defeated it in the Senate. They are now demanding a list of ridiculous concessions that would negatively impact hardworking American families.
The Democrats’ list of demands includes:
FREE healthcare for illegal aliens and taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries.
Hundreds of millions to left-wing media organizations.
A reversal in nearly $5 billion in commonsense spending cuts.
The elimination of President Trump’s constitutional authority to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.
Overall, Democrats are demanding Congress increase spending by nearly $1.5 TRILLION, which would fuel inflation and explode America's already $37 trillion national debt.
One of the most absurd demands made by the Democrats is not allowing Biden’s COVID-era Obamacare subsidies to expire. These temporary COVID subsidies were originally implemented by Democrats in the American Rescue Plan and then extended again through the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act—in both instances, not a SINGLE Republican voted for them.
Democrats themselves made it law that these subsidies expire at the end of 2025, but now they are changing their tune by demanding that we make them permanent. This move would cost the American taxpayer at least $40 billion annually and more than $350 billion over the next decade. In addition, the subsidies would crowd out private coverage, drive up health costs, incentivize employers not to offer health coverage, facilitate fraud, and delay needed reforms. COVID is long gone; it’s time for these COVID subsidies to go away, too.
Republicans must stand united in rejecting these outrageous demands. We cannot allow this Schumer Shakedown to succeed. Instead, we must continue to fight for policies that reflect the values of the American people and put our citizens first—not special interests, illegal aliens, and political extremists. If the government shuts down, it will be Chuck Schumer’s Shutdown, and Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves.

As you may know, a government shutdown began at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, October 1, after funding authorization for the federal government expired. Last month, I voted to avoid this situation and extend past levels of government funding through November 21 with a clean 7-week Continuing Resolution (CR). Unfortunately, the legislation required 60 votes to pass in the Senate, but with Republicans holding only 53 seats, all but three Senate Democrats voted against it, effectively blocking the House-passed bill and requesting the inclusion of $1.5 TRILLION in liberal policies.
Please know that I am working for a solution that cuts wasteful spending, keeps our country safe, and promotes the best interests of hardworking men and women of Texas. However, I understand this shutdown could be a challenge for families across Texas’s Third District. I am passing along the information below to address some of the most common topics about what the shutdown means for you and your family.
Will my offices remain open?
My team and I will be working throughout this shutdown. This year, we have responded to countless messages, emails, and phone calls, and we will continue to respond during the shutdown. We have also helped CD3 residents reclaim millions of dollars owed to them by federal agencies, including the VA, Social Security, and the IRS.
Unfortunately, our ability to help constituents with situations like this will be affected by the shutdown, as many departments and agencies will not be processing casework during the shutdown. However, that work will resume once federal funding is resolved. If you are experiencing an issue with a federal agency, please call my office at 972-202-4150 or fill out this form, and we will work with you on the paperwork that must be completed so we can file your case as soon as we are able.
Unfortunately, my team will not be able to process flag orders and arrange tours of the United States Capitol or other landmarks for constituents visiting Washington, D.C. during this time. If you are traveling to D.C. during this time, my office will be open to visitors. We will resume booking tours and processing flag orders as soon as funding is resolved.
Despite the shutdown, essential services continue, including border protection, law enforcement, air traffic control, in-hospital medical care, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ health programs.
What kinds of services will continue?
While the programs listed below will continue, the agencies responsible for administering them may see reduced workforces, impacting operations. This is not a comprehensive list as we are continuing to gather information.

This week, Democrats shut down the government. House Republicans—including me—did our jobs last month and passed a clean seven-week Continuing Resolution (CR), extending current funding levels to keep the government open.
Instead of passing this clean funding measure, similar to those that Democrats have supported numerous times in the past, Senate Democrats ran out the clock. They repeatedly blocked the bill from passing until the government officially shut down at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, October 1st.
Why? Because the CR didn’t include $1.5 TRILLION worth of extra spending on liberal priorities like free healthcare for illegal aliens, taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries, hundreds of millions of dollars to left-wing media outlets, an extension of COVID-era subsidies that are riddled with fraud, and a reversal in commonsense spending cuts.
The United States is $37 trillion in debt, and adding an extra $1.5 trillion to our national debt would be irresponsible. The Democrats are holding our government hostage, demanding that Congress spend hardworking American taxpayers’ dollars on policies that drive our nation deeper and deeper into debt.
My team and I will continue working for you during this Democrat Shutdown, including taking your calls and helping you with any federal issues. Despite the shutdown, essential services continue, including border protection, law enforcement, air traffic control, in-hospital medical care, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ health programs. OSLO, Norway (AP) — Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for her struggle to achieve a democratic transition in the South American nation, winning recognition as a woman “who keeps the flame of democracy burning amid a growing darkness.”
The former opposition presidential candidate is a “key, unifying figure” in the once deeply divided opposition to President Nicolás Maduro’s government, said Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel committee.
“In the past year, Ms. Machado has been forced to live in hiding,” Watne Frydnes said. “Despite serious threats against her life, she has remained in the country, a choice that has inspired millions. When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist.” Read full article here.

Dear Friends,
This week marked the somber second anniversary of Hamas' brutal attack on Israel. Two years ago, Hamas terrorists unleashed horror on Israel, killing over 1,200 people—including 46 Americans—burning homes, and abducting 254 hostages. In the face of such evil, Israel has fought with unyielding resolve to defend its people and secure the freedom of those still held captive.
Amid this grief, a beacon of hope emerged on Wednesday. Thanks to the bold diplomacy of President Trump and his Administration, Hamas has agreed to the first phase of the Israel-Gaza Peace Plan. This breakthrough commits them to releasing all 48 remaining hostages—both living and deceased—in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and an Israeli troop withdrawal to a secure, negotiated line along Gaza's borders. It paves the way for an immediate ceasefire and the first steps toward lasting stability in the region.
Yet true peace demands more. Hamas must fully disband its terror apparatus, surrender its weapons, and renounce any future threat to Israel—ensuring such savagery can never happen again. We must never forget October 7th and remain steadfast in preventing such atrocities in the future.
President Trump has demonstrated strong leadership in his efforts to secure this agreement, negotiate the return of the hostages, and persevere in his quest to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East. This is a historic achievement by the President. He is truly the President of peace.

Update on the Democrat Shutdown
Today is day 11 of the Schumer Shutdown.
I was proud to support a clean Continuing Resolution to fund the government, but Democrats in the Senate are continuing to hold government spending hostage unless they get an additional $1.5 trillion of taxpayer money for liberal policies—such as free healthcare for illegal aliens.
Soon, essential government employees, like our warfighters and air traffic controllers, will miss their paychecks. This is unacceptable, and I urge Senate Democrats to pass the clean CR immediately.

I have no idea where senior citizens are getting fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamines. Are you telling me that senior citizens are downtown asking people where to buy these drugs or have friends that know people where to buy these very illegal drugs? It can not be that hard for our police to track down the people selling these deadly drugs to senior citizens; in these very isolated incidents. There is something very wrong with our society that allows these deaths to take place. Also where is this data coming from revealing to us all that fentanyl has been killing people by the thousands; since 1999. I knew it. I think fentanyl has been killing people; before most people ever knew about it's existence.:
Deadly drug mix drives staggering rise in overdose deaths among seniors

America’s seniors aren't immune to the ongoing opioid epidemic.
Among adults 65 and older, overdose deaths from fentanyl mixed with stimulants — like cocaine and methamphetamines — have surged 9,000% in the last eight years, which matches rates among younger adults.
That's according to research from the American Society of Anesthesiologists, which was presented at the ANESTHESIOLOGY 2025 annual meeting this week in San Antonio.
Using CDC data, the researchers analyzed 404,964 death certificates that listed fentanyl as a cause of death between 1999 and 2023. Read more here.
